A 13-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following a serious stabbing incident at Kingsbury High School in Brent, north-west London.
Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard that the accused allegedly entered a classroom on Tuesday armed with a kitchen knife. Prosecutors stated that he sprayed ant killer into one pupil’s face before stabbing a 13-year-old boy in the neck. The victim reportedly suffered three stab wounds, a spinal fracture, and injuries to the neck and hands that required surgery.
The court also heard that less than a minute later, a 12-year-old boy was stabbed, sustaining a cut to the neck measuring approximately 3cm.

The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, has also been charged with possession of a knife on school premises without lawful authority and unlawfully administering a noxious substance to another child. Prosecutors further alleged that the attacks were unprovoked and may have been filmed on a mobile phone.
Numerous pupils and a teacher were present during the incident. The court was told the suspect remained at large for around three hours before being arrested near a mosque.
The injuries sustained by the two victims are not believed to be life-threatening. However, prosecutors said it is not yet clear whether the injuries could have life-changing consequences.
The teenager appeared in court wearing a grey prison-issue tracksuit and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. He has been remanded into youth detention and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on 27 February.
In a statement, the school’s head teacher described the incident as a “deeply traumatic event for the whole school community.” Kingsbury High School remains closed for pupils in Years 7 to 9 and is expected to reopen fully on Friday.
